Editorial Policy
Daily Mirror News is an independent publication. Our editorial decisions are made by our editors and journalists, not by advertisers, commercial partners or any external interest. This page sets out the principles that guide our work.
Accuracy and Verification
We aim to publish only what we can verify. Before publication, claims are checked against primary sources where possible. When we rely on a single source, we say so. When facts are disputed, we represent the dispute fairly. We do not publish rumour as fact.
Corrections
When we make mistakes — and we do — we correct them promptly and transparently. Corrections are published on the original article page with a clear note explaining what was wrong and what the correct information is. We do not delete or silently amend articles without acknowledgement.
Independence
Our newsroom operates independently of our commercial operations. Advertisers have no influence over what we cover, how we cover it, or what conclusions we reach. Sponsored content, if published, is clearly labelled as such and is not produced by our editorial team.
Sources and Anonymity
We protect the identity of confidential sources. We grant anonymity only when a source has a genuine reason to fear identification and when the information they provide is in the public interest and cannot be obtained by other means. We do not grant anonymity as a matter of convenience.
Fairness and Right of Reply
Individuals and organisations who are the subject of significant criticism in our reporting are given a reasonable opportunity to respond before publication. Their responses are included in the published article or, if received after publication, appended to it.
Conflicts of Interest
Journalists at Daily Mirror News are required to disclose any personal or financial interest in subjects they cover. Where a conflict of interest exists, the journalist is reassigned or the interest is disclosed to readers.
Contact the Editors
If you have concerns about our editorial standards or wish to submit a complaint, please contact us at editorial@daily-mirror-news.digital. We aim to respond to all editorial complaints within five working days.
